Like last year, K&K Bowling Services will be promoting our Charity Bowling Event city-wide to bowlers and seeking sponsors for the children 5 yrs and older, that have a hearing loss.This sponsorship will provide a FREE Custom-fit Bowling Ball and Bag for your child. If your child was not one of the 20+ children with hearing loss last year that received a Bowling Ball and Bag, they will be eligible for the 2011 program.

Participation of the bowling ball and bag program may be limited and based on the number of sponsors... so get your child on the list today!

GIANT THANK YOU CARD PRESENTED TO FORMER MAYOR GOODMAN

 

AGBNV members: Alan Dimich, Aspen Sorenson, Nameer and Edwin Magno present former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman with a giant thank you card of notes and photos from those that attended a Las Vegas 51s baseball game on August 5, 2011. The Mayor's Knothole Gang provided 100 tickets to the chapter so that children with hearing loss and their familes could enjoy a night of baseball, topped off with a colorful fireworks display. The former mayor also took time to listen to the parents and Co-President Corrine Altman on issues surrounding hearing loss and the benefits children with hearing loss gain in learning to listen, talk and thrive in mainstream society.

 

Thirteen year old, Aspen Sorenson, explained her Cochlear Implant educating Goodman. She then, spoke to him about her recent acting experience in the play, Mission:Possible, a No Limits Production made up of deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Through promotions of the play, Aspen had the opportunity to appear on TV, which she also told him about. Not to be outdone, the infamous and colorful former mayor, then shared about an acting role he has in an upcoming episode of the TV series: CSI.

 

Not only was Goodman impressed with Miss Sorenson's listening and speaking skills, but we think he will be happy to know, he gained a fan for his soon to be appearance on CSI. The show happens to be one of Aspen's favorites.
